Amy 2 Record Third Album in Jamaica
Amy Winehouse is ready to start recording her third album after writing for the last year.
Amy and her record label Island Records are currently in Jamaica and will start recording the follow-up to the monster that was "Back To Black." No release date is currently known but a Christmas 2009 would be amazing. Mark Ronson the producer behind most of "Back to Black" will also be in Jamaica working on the follow-up with Amy.
I really hope this next record is just as amazing as "Back To Black." I always envisioned Amy working there because after her sophomore album was released in 2006 she started experimenting with the Ska genre on songs that she performed on her Tour in 2007. Tracks like "Monkey Man," "Cupid," "Addicted," "You're Wondering Now" and "Hey Little Rick Girl" all had hints of Ska in them and were performed on tour and were only released on the DVD of her tour. I love her voice with that genre and I think her next album could be amazing with the right production. I also think the next album could sound a lot more upbeat than the dark hole that was "Back To Black."
