Goldfrapp 2 Release "Alive"

Goldfrapp are set to release their second single off their fifth studio album, "Head First."


"Alive" has been chosen as the second single following "Rocket." "Alive" will be released digitally on May 24 with a music video to premiere in May. The new single is a great follow up single and a perfect track from Spring. 


I would hope Goldfrapp releases at least three more singles but EMI are notorious for releasing only four singles per album. If only two more tracks I hope "I Wanna Life" is the third single for the summer and "Believer" to follow in the Fall.

Metric 2 Re-Release "Fantasies"

Metric is set to re-release their fourth studio album, "Fantasies" on May 24, 2010.


The deluxe edition of "Fantasies" does not have an official track listing yet but I am sure all original 12 tracks will be featured. Hopefully it will include the music videos and possibly the "Fantasies" tour. 


It was announced that the deluxe edition will be promoted with the new single, "Gold Gun Girls." The new single will be released on April 26 with a music video premiering in May. "Gold Gun Girls" is a fantastic single choice and will be a huge success. The new single follows, "Sick Muse," "Help I'm Alive" and "Gimme Sympathy." 


If the deluxe edition does well I hope they release at least two more singles from the album. I would love to see both "Twilight Galaxy" and "Satellite Mind" released. 

Rihanna 2 Release "Photographs"

Rihanna is set to release her third official UK single from her fourth studio album, "Rated R."


The third official single for the UK will be "Photographs" which features Will.I.Am. There is no word yet whether or not "Photographs" will be released in North America. I have a feeling it will after the success of "Rude Boy." "Photographs" will be released digitally on May 24 while the video will premiere in early May. 


The reason "Photographs" is currently only a UK release is because the UK has only released two singles, "Russian Roulette" and "Rude Boy." "Hard" was only released in North America. 


I am happy with the single choices, if her label Def Jam did decide to release another single I would hope it would be "Fire Bomb."

Peaches 2 Release "Billionaire"

Peaches is set to release her fourth single from her fourth studio album, "I Feel Cream."


The fourth single will be "Billionaire" which features Shaunda K from Yo Majesty. The music video premiered back on March 19. The single will be released digitally on April 5. 


I am incredibly happy with the single choices from this album. "Talk To Me," "More," "Lose You," "I Feel Cream" and "Billionaire" are all standout tracks. Peaches has released videos for 10 out of the 12 tracks so far. The only two videos still waiting to be shown are "Show Stopper" and "Mud." I hope Peaches releases all 12 videos and the "I Feel Cream" tour on a DVD later this year.

XTina Has Released Promo Photos

Christina Aguilera is set to release her fourth studio album, "Bionic" on June 8, 2010. 

The lead single, "Not Myself Tonight" will premiere on her website this afternoon. It will be released to radio on April 5 and digitally on April 12. Here are a couple promo photos from the new album including the album cover.

The official tracklisting has not yet been confirmed.

Gossip 2 Release "Pop Goes The World"

Gossip are set to release their third single from their fourth studio album, "Music For Men."


"Pop Goes The World" has been chosen and will be released to radio on April 5 while the music video premiered last week. "Pop Goes The World" is a great single choice following both "Love Long Distance" and "Heavy Cross."

"True Blood" Comes Back June 13

The season 3 premiere of "True Blood" has been announced. It will premiere on Sunday, June 13, 2010.


The tentative season finale will be September 12 which will be the 12th and final episode of the season. The complete second season on DVD/Blu Ray will be released on May 25. That is a full two weeks from the 3rd season premiere to let fans get caught up.

Christina Aguilera 2 Release New Single

Christina Aguilera is set to release her lead single off her fourth studio album, "Bionic" which is to be released on June 8, 2010.


Lead single, "Not Myself Tonight" was announced as the first single on her official website on March 23. "Not Myself Tonight" will be released to her website on March 30, 2010, the music video will premiere in late April. The track will be released to radio on April 5 and digitally on April 13.

Rihanna 2 Release "Rude Boy" Remix EP

Rihanna is set to release a remix EP for her third single, "Rude Boy" off her fourth studio album, "Rated R."


The "Rude Boy" remix EP will be released on April 5, 2010 and will include remixes from Chew Fu, Jonathan Peters and Wideboys.

Mimi Has Cancelled "Angels Advocate" Album

Mariah Carey was set to release her second official remix album, "Angels Advocate" on March 30, 2010.


"Angels Advocate" was to be a companion piece to "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" which was her 12th studio album. It was to feature all the original tracks but in a remixed form. Mariah Carey's label announced on March 22 that the album has been cancelled due to lack of interest.


There were two singles, "Out Of My Face" and "Angels Cry" which were released in January and neither songs saw any radio play or any significant chart progress. "Out of My Face" only reached #100 on the Billboard 100 and "Angels Cry" faired worse. 


Her label announced that she is currently in the studio working on a new album and possibly a second christmas album. Mariah Carey recorded remixed duets of all 14 tracks off "Angels Advocate" and her label said those tracks will be released through iTunes throughout the year. Some of the remixes will be released as singles.

Kate Nash 2 Release Sophomore Album

Kate Nash is set to release her sophomore album, "My Best Friend Is You" on April 19, 2010 IN Europe.


The first single, "Do Wah Doo" was released on February 18 and has still not made an impact in the UK. There is no release date for North America, but Canada usually receives the albums around the same time as Europe.

Bjork 2 Create "Scientific Musical" 3D Film

Björk and film director Michel Gondry have started collaborating on a film, Gondry has revealed. The pair are devising a "scientific musical", which they plan to screen in museums.

"We have a very ambitious project," Gondry said as part of a panel at SXSW. "A 40-minute IMAX project in 3D." While he offered no further details, at least he was more forthcoming than the first time the project came up. "It's very undefined," he told Entertainment Weekly last month. "It's hard to give more precision.

Gondry and Björk are certainly no strangers to one-another. Music videos for "Army of Me" and "Joga" were some of the main ways Gondry broke into filmmaking, and he has directed a total of seven clips for the Icelandic singer. The most recent was 2007's "Declare Independence."

GaGa & Beyonce Tie Mimi 4 Pop Record

Lady GaGa and Beyonce have tied Mariah Carey's record for most number one songs on the Pop Songs chart.

With a 2-1 rise for "Telephone," Lady GaGa and Beyonce have made history for most chart-toppers since Nielson BDS-based radio airplay chart launched in 1992. The pair join Mariah Carey, who tallied six chart toppers between 1993 - 2005. Before "Telephone" went to number one, GaGa and Beyonce were in a six-way tie with Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne and Pink with five number ones.

Beyonce first led Pop Songs with "Crazy in Love" in 2003, while Lady Gaga first appeared on the chart just 16 months ago. Lady GaGa, in fact, has yet to fall short of the survey's summit, reaching No. 1 on her first six tries, she has that distinct honour.

What took Beyonce eight years, Justin Timberlake nine years, Britney Spears 11 years, Avril Lavigne nine years, Pink 10 years and Mariah Carey 18 years, Lady GaGa succeeded in 16 short months.

GaGa 2 Release Japanese Remix Album

Lady GaGa is set to release her first remix album "The Remix" on March 23, 2010.


"The Remix" is currently only scheduled to be released in Japan but will most likely get a worldwide release sometime in the summer.  "The Remix" includes remixes of all her hit singles from both "The Fame" and "The Fame Monster."

Kate Nash 2 Release "Do Wah Doo"

Kate Nash is set to release her sophomore album "My Best Friend Is You" on April 19, 2010. 

First single, "Do Wah Doo" was released on March 2 to UK radio while the music video premiered this past Monday, March 8. The single will be released digitally on March 15, 2010.

Dragonette 2 Release "Easy" Third Single

Dragonette have finally chosen the official third single off their sophomore release, "Fixin To Thrill."


"Easy" has been chosen and will be released officially on March 15. It was sent to radio on March 2 while the music video should be released by the end of the month.  


I am extremely happy that Dragonette decided with "Easy." So far they are three for three in my books. It would be fantastic if they released five singles off the album and followed "Easy" with two other amazing tracks. I hope they release "Liar" as the fourth single, it's one of my favourite's while I would also be happy with "Stupid Grin."

Estelle 2 Release "Freaky" Lead Single

Estelle is set to release her lead single, "Freak" off her third studio album, "All Of Me" which is set for release in May 2010.


"Freak" features Kardinal Offishall and samples Soul II Soul's 1989 hit single, "Back To Life (However Do You Want Me)".  The single will go to radio on March 22 while the music video premiered yesterday, March 2. It will be released digitally on April 5, 2010.

Robyn 2 Release 3 Albums in 2010

Robyn released her breakthrough self-titled third album back in 2005 in Scandinavia, 2007 in Europe and 2008 in North America. Five years later, Robyn is back and ready to release not one, but three albums this year.

Among her bounty of new, more "dance-oriented" songs is a "rap duel" with Snoop Dogg, a track produced by Röyksopp called "None of Dem" that she says sounds like a Timbaland song, one called "Fembot" that's about "30-year-old women who want to get pregnant" (Robyn turned 30 last year), another one called "Don't Fucking Tell Me What to Do", and "Dance Hall Queen", which was produced by Diplo and mysteriously found its way onto the internet back in February.


The first LP is due this Spring, with the following two out in Summer and Winter.  Producers include Klas Åhlund, Andreas Kleerup, Patrik Berger, and Savage Skulls.

Look for the lead single to be released at the end of this month.
