Erykah 2 Release 2 More Videos

Erykah Badu was to release part 2 of her "New Amerykah" series this past week but the album got pushed back because of two reasons: first, she just gave birth to her third child and second, she wants to release two more singles from "New Amerykah Part 1: 4th World War."

On her official myspace page she wrote a blog saying she wanted her fans to help her choose their two favourite tracks from part 1 and they will be released. The release includes two music videos for the tracks. Many fans have asked her to release "The Healer," "Soldier" and "Me."

I think she should do what Missy Elliott does, put two tracks into one video. First would be "The Healer/Soldier" and the second video would be "Me/My People." The entire album is flawless and I would be happy with any new music videos from Ms. Erykah but those four are the standout tracks from Part 1.

Let's hope she does what I said. I am so glad she changed her mind and wants to keep Part 1 going for a little while because the album is brilliant and one of my favourites of 2008 and in my Top 20 of my life!

Dido Is Ready For Some "Quiet Times"

Dido is ready to release her second single from her third studio album, "Safe Trip Home" which was released in November 2008.

The first single, "Don't Believe In Love" was released in September 2008 and was a great single choice. The second single will be "Quiet Times" which was written about her father and his passing in 2006. The music video will be released in mid-March and will go to radio on March 9, 2009.

Ciara's "Ride" May Be Just A "Fantasy"

Ciara was to release her third studio album, "Fantasy Ride" in October 2008, than December 2008, than March 2009, than again April 7, 2009. Well it seems Zomba is not quite ready to release it to the public just yet.

Ciara's "Fantasy Ride" has been pushed back once again from April 7 to May 19, 2009, a whole 7 weeks later. I wonder if the album will ever actually be released. Instead of pushing it back they should have released it in November 2008 and if it bombed than have her start working on another album. Obviously the tracks that have been released such as "High Price," "Go Girl" and "Never Ever" are not that great so why would her fans want the entire album.

I am still confused as to why they decided to release "Love, Sex. Magic" as a single when they have the song "Echo" which is 10 times better than any of the tracks I've heard. I guess because "Love, Sex, Magic" features Justin Timberlake on the duet and usually anything he touches goes Top 10.

Zomba released a statement saying that "Fantasy Ride" will have a worldwide release date of May 19, 2009 for the entire world and will be coming out that day and there is no other option. We will see. At least with other artists such as Missy Elliott and Timbaland they have pushed their albums back and said "2009" and did not give a release date. That is the smart option because than the fans don't get angry because the album keeps getting pushed back.

"Britney: For The Record" Comin 2 DVD

Britney Spears will release her 2008 documentary "Britney: For The Record" on April 7, 2009.

"Britney: For The Record" was originally telecasted on MTV/Much Music on November 30, 2008. It received critical and fan acclaim. The documentary reveals Spears most intimate moments, from the beginning of her much publicized meltdown, until how she returned to the music spotlight. She also reflects on past decisions, saying "I'm a smart person...What the hell was I thinking?!" For the Record includes footage from her appearance at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, going into the recording studio, to the video shoots of her singles "Womanizer and "Circus"—songs off her sixth studio album, Circus—to rehearsals, and press tours. Madonna also makes a special appearance and commentary.

The special features have not yet been released but her official website says that the documentary will be longer than the televised one including rare scenes that didn't air on TV. As well as a bonus CD including unreleased remixes of her newest smash singles, "Womanizer" and "Circus."

Like other Britney DVDs, usually the DVD includes the music videos that were shot around that time. I do not think "Gimme More, " Piece of Me," "Break The Ice," Womanizer" and "Circus" will be included because I am sure Jive would have announced that. I hope Jive releases another DVD in the summer with all the music videos that have not been released yet including all singles from "Blackout" and "Circus."

P!nk "Funhouse Tour" Official Set List

P!nk kicked off her "Funhouse Tour" in Nice on February 24, 2009 in support of her fifth studio album, "Funhouse."

Her set list consists of mainly tracks from "Funhouse" with other big hits from "I'm Not Dead," "Try This" and "Missundaztood." P!nk also performs a couple covers including Divinyls "I Touch Myself," "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen and Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy" to name a few. Standout tracks that are not performed on this tour include her hit singles "There You Go," "Most Girls," "You Make Me Sick," "Don't Let Me Get Me" and "Stupid Girls." When an artist releases more studio albums, it gets harder to pick and choose what to perform. Madonna usually only picks one track from each album because she has 11 studio albums.

Here is the official set list for the "Funhouse Tour":

01 - "Highway to Hell" (Intro)
02 - "Bad Influence"
03 - "Just Like A Pill"
04 - "One Foot Wrong"

05 - "Who Knew"
06 - "Please Don't Leave Me"

Lady GaGa Finally Gets Top 10 Album

Lady GaGa released her debut album, "The Fame" back in August 2008 in Canada and October 2008 in the US.

"The Fame" originally debuted at #17 back on October 18, 2008 on the Billboard 200. With the success of first single, "Just Dance" the album than peaked at #14 in January 2009. Well GaGa has finally managed to crack the top 10. This week with a publishing date of March 7, 2009 sees her album rocket from the number 26 position to #10, thanks to her singles "Just Dance" and "Poker Face" both in the top 10 this week.

Congrats Lady GaGa! I hope it reaches higher peaks in the coming weeks. "Poker Face" is gaining momentum in the US and the new single "LoveGame" has just been released, so I hope it goes at least top 5.

"Clue" Remake Is Definitely Still On

Dismissed by critics and the box-office when it first came out in 1985, the black comedy "Clue" has since gone on to become one the favorite cult films of a generation.

Now, Universal has attached "Pirates of the Caribbean" director Gore Verbinski to develop "Clue," a more straightforward murder mystery take on the classic Hasbro board game that he would direct says Variety.

The film is a part of Universal's deal with Hasbro which will see their board game properties like "Monopoly," "Candyland" and "Ouija" become features.

Jonathan Krauss , senior VP of Verbinski's production company Blind Wink, says this incarnation will be "a global thriller and transmedia event that uses deductive reasoning as its storytelling engine."

Jonathan Lynn, regular writer of acclaimed British comedy series "Yes Minister", penned and directed the original film which starred such comedy luminaries as Madeline Khan, Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry, Michael McKean, Lesley Ann Warren, Eileen Brennan and Martin Mull.

In that McCarthy-era set film, six people using pseudonyms (eg. Mrs. White, Miss Scarlett) are called to a dinner party at a creepy Victorian mansion. Each of them have one thing in common though, all are being blackmailed for past indiscretions.

Over the course of the evening, bodies of various ancillary characters start to pile up, as do the classic lines such as "Husbands should be like Kleenex - soft, strong and disposable".

"Harry Potter" Franchise Coming To An End

The "Harry Potter" franchise is coming to an end in 2011. The franchise which consists of seven books will see it's last film in theatres in Summer 2011.

There are three movies still to be released. The first, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" will be released on July 17, 2009. Followed by "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" which has been cut into two films, Part 1 will be released in November 2010 and Part 2 will be released on July 15, 2011.

The final film of the "Harry Potter" franchise "Part 2" will come out only eight months after "Part 1" and will be released four months before the tenth anniversary of the first film "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone/Philosopher's Stone" which was released in November 2001.

Great timing! The entire franchise will have taken an entire decade to open and close the amazing book series.

"Heroes" May Be On It's Last Leg

"Heroes" generated their lowest ratings ever on Monday night, February 23, 2009.

"Heroes" (3.3/8, 6.9 million viewers) was down 8% from its previously established settling point.

The show placed last in its hour among the major broadcast networks and many now wonder if the series will make it beyond its finales in May.

The "Heroes" drain is familiar - fans have been complaining for over a year now about the show's quality and an attempted reboot with 'Volume Four' the other week seems to have not paid off.

"Heroes" has always been one of my favourites and it's sad to see it doing so horrible. I still love every single episode regardless of crazy plot lines. I really hope it gets picked up for a fourth season.

"The Dark Knight" Supasses $1 Billion

"The Dark Knight" has officially passed the $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue mark, becoming only the fourth film to do so reports Variety.

Warners confirmed that as of Friday afternoon, the combined domestic and international gross had totaled $1,001,082,160 to date - around $533 million domestically and $567 million overseas. Grosses from Ecuador and the IMAX re-release helped nudge the film over the mark which it was $4 million shy of in December.

It now sits behind "Titanic" ($1.842 billion), "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" ($1.119 billion) and "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" ($1.066 billion) on the global box-office tally.

Ciara & JT To Have Some "Love/Sex/Magic"

Ciara has had no luck when it comes to her third studio album, "Fantasy Ride." It was pushed back from its November 2008 release to its now official April 7, 2009 date.

First single "High Price" was leaked early and was canceled, than "Go Girl" was chosen as the first single but that song stalled and became a promo single and now the first "official single" "Never Ever" has yet to really make an impact.

Ciara has decided to release her second single right away and it's a little better than the others but not anything new or fresh. The second single "Love Sex Magic" features Justin Timberlake on the duet and will be released on February 24, 2009 to radio and the music video will premiere in early March.

There is one song that has leaked that is definitely single worthy yet she keeps choosing boring songs. "Echo" is a standout track and should be released and it should have been released as the first single.

Katy Perry 2 Release "Vegas" Next

Katy Perry is still going strong with her debut album "One of the Boys" and will squeak out another single this summer.

Katy has decided to release "Waking Up In Vegas" as the fifth official single after "Ur So Gay," "I Kissed A Girl," "Hot N Cold" and "Thinking Of You."

"Waking Up In Vegas" will be released to radio on June 17, 2009, which is the one-year anniversary of "One of the Boys" album release. The music video will be shot sometime in May during her "Hello Katy Tour."

Peaches Returns With Some "Cream"

Peaches is set to release her fourth studio album, "I Feel Cream" on May 5, 2009 and a day earlier in Europe.

The album was produced by Peaches alongside members of Simian Mobile Disco, Digitalism, Soulwax and Drums Of Death. It will be preceded by a double A-side single, 'Talk To Me'/'More', on April 27, 2009. "Talk To Me" will receive a video and will be released in April.

Here is the official track listing for "I Feel Cream":

01 - 'Serpentine'
02 - 'Talk To Me'
03 - 'Lose You'
04 - 'More'
05 - 'Billionaire'
06 - 'I Feel Cream'
07 - 'Trick Or Treat'
08 - 'Show Stopper'
09 - 'Mommy Complex'
10 - 'Mud'
11 - 'Relax'
12 - 'Take You Out'

I have already downloaded the free mixtape which includes the tracks "Billionaire," "Lose You" and "I Feel Cream" and all of them are amazing! I cannot wait for the album, it's gonna be a good one. It sounds definitely like Peaches but less rock and more dance driven and also she sings a lot more and puts rap on the back burner. But than again the other 9 tracks could be like good old Peaches, which is not a bad thing at all.

Bjork Readies "Volta" Box Set

Bjork is set to release a box set of her most recent studio album, "Volta" which was released in May 2007.

The box set will titled "Voltaic" and will be released in March 2009. As mentioned on this blog all the way back in April 2008 it seems Bjork is finally ready to release this collection.

Bjork's official website just uploaded this statement about "Voltaic":

We are announcing Voltaic, the celebration of Volta and the Volta live show. The release will consist of various live recordings from Paris and Reykjavik. The live set was also recorded in a studio in London, which will undoubtedly give us some rare glimpse into the development of the live set.

The release will be availble as Standard, Deluxe and Deluxe Vinyl. Björk did document the tour extensively and now we will be able to enjoy this work in a new light and new sound.

The box set will include four discs (2 CDs and 2 DVDs in the deluxe edition) and two discs (1 CD and 1 DVD in the standard edition).

The standard edition will include an audio CD with selections from the "Volta" tour and a DVD with the full "Volta" concert.
The deluxe edition will include both discs listed above and another CD with all the remixes from the "Volta" era and another DVD with the "Volta" music videos.

I will list the track listing for the "Voltaic" box set when it leaks.

Black Eyed Peas Finally Ready 4 The E.N.D.

The Black Eyed Peas will release their first studio album in four years, "The E.N.D.," on June 9, 2009 via Interscope. As previously reported, the group originally hoped to release the set, which stands for "The Energy Never Dies," in March.

The album's first single, "Boom Boom Pow," will soon be serviced to radio and clubs as soon as the beginning of March 2009. The group is planning an international tour in support of the release.

Black Eyed Peas principal will.i.am previously told Billboard he hopes the album will continue to evolve even after it is released. "When [the album] comes out, there'll be 12 songs on it, but the next day there could be 100 songs, 50 sketches, 1,000 blogs all (online) around 'The End,' so the energy really, truly never dies,” he said.

He described the music as "a lot of dance stuff, real melodic, electronic, soulful. We call it, like, electric static funk, something like that."

The Black Eyed Peas' last album, "Monkey Business," was released in May 2005 and has sold 4.2 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
