Katy Perry Is 'The One That Got Away'

Katy Perry's label Capital has decided they are not ready to close this era just yet.

Capital has decided to release a sixth single, 'The One That Got Away' in support of her sophomore release 'Teenage Dream.' The new mid-tempo single will be released to radio on October 4 while a music video should follow in late October.

This is no brainer for anyone following Katy Perry's chart reign over the last year and a half. The new single is the perfect track for an Autumn release and has a very catchy chorus and should prove to do quite well at radio.

As well, Perry is still going strong on her 'California Dreams Tour' which is scheduled to finish on December 1 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, so why not have another track to promote while still performing at arena's across the US.

If this track does hit #1 on the Billboard 100 it will be her 6th number one from the album and will surpass Michael Jackson's record 5 #1s set back in 1988. No pressure.

I was actually hoping she would release 'Peacock' or 'Hummingbird Heartbeat.' Who knows, if this one does well we might just get a 7th single for Winter while she works on her followup album.
