CBS Puts Final Nail in 'Gentleman'

CBS has not officially cancelled man-comedy 'How to be a Gentleman,' but the TV station might not need an official statement.

'How to be a Gentleman' first premiered on September 29 after 'The Big Bang Theory.' It was watched by less than nine million viewers which is quite good however with a lead in from 'Theory' with almost double didn't help. The second week it lost another 1.5 million viewers and CBS decided to send it to the Saturday graveyard slot for the next week.

Originally, 'Rules of Engagement' was to premiere on Saturday, October 15 however with 'Gentleman' doing so poorly, they decided to switch timeslots for the two shows. Most would agree sending it to the Saturday time slot was CBS's way of cancelling it without saying anything. After only one airing (the third episode) CBS has pulled 'Gentleman' from Saturday and now will air repeats of other comedies in its place.

Here is a breakdown of the aired episodes:

01 - Pilot - 2.7 rating - 8.98 million viewers
02 - How to Have a One-Night Stand - 2.5 rating - 7.58 million viewers
03 - How to attend your Ex-Fiancee's Wedding - 0.7 rating - 2.43 million viewers

RIP 'Gentleman' it was like you never even existed.
