'Community' Renewed For Season 4

NBC has renewed its comedy 'Community' starring Joel McHale and Chevy Chase for a fourth season.

'Community' has been a pretty good hit for NBC, however this current season has seen a pretty significant ratings drop off in viewership. The third season premiere was watched by over four million viewers but recent episodes have only had between two-three million viewers. NBC could have just canceled the series but because 'Community' is one of their only cult-fan-favourite shows it has been renewed for 13 episodes. With the upcoming 13 episodes it will bring 'Community' to 84 episodes, 88 episodes is the standard for syndication. NBC is probably going to add the 'back 9' this fall when one of their sitcoms gets canceled.

Here is the break down of the last five aired episodes:
Episode 14 - Pillows and Blankets (Part 2) - April 5 - 3.00 million viewers
Episode 15 - Origins of Vampire Mythology - April 12 - 3.09 million viewers
Episode 16 - Virtual Systems Analysis - April 19 - 2.77 million viewers
Episode 17 - Basic Lupine Urology - April 26 - 3.21 million viewers
Episode 18 - Course Listing Unavailable - May 3 - 3.20 million viewers

Next week NBC will air three episodes back-to-back including its third season finale.
