"Heroes" Will Be Back For Season Four

Despite the ratings drop-off, NBC plans to bring back "Heroes" for a fourth season.

NBC Entertainment President Angela Bromstad confirmed that the network plans to order 18-20 episodes of the show for next season to The Hollywood Reporter.

The network has privately discussed setting a series end date for "Heroes" (ala "Lost," "Battlestar Galactica") allowing the writers time to develop the storylines in a way to wrap things up properly. However even if this does take place it isn't likely to happen next season.

The show continues to perform well among the core adults 18-49 demographic, and still performs well internationally.

NBC's planned "Jericho"-esque serial drama "Year One" about a group of survivors in the wake of a catastrophic global event is planning to air alongside "Heroes" on Monday nights next season.
