Janet's 'Discipline' Comes 2 an Abrupt End

Janet Jackson released her 10th studio album 'Discipline' on February 26, 2008. The album has sold 392,000 copies in the United States since its February release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The first single 'Feedback' was released back in December 2007 and failed to impact radio or digital sales. The second single 'Rock Wit U' failed even worse and didnt even receive radio or digital sales. I can honestly say I've heard 'Rock Wit U' on the radio only once since it's April 2008 Release.

Two more singles were to be released this month 'Luv' on Pop radio and 'Cant B Good' on Urban radio but Island Def Jam, her record label has decided to cancel all promotion on the album. I honestly feel that 'Luv' would have done quite well but the label sees differently.

In a statement released by a Island Def Jam spokesperson says, "Unfortunately we haven't experienced the results we would have liked with this new album. But we respect and support Janet."

This does not bode well for her upcoming tour entitled 'Rock Wit U' which is named after her failed single. Recently Island Def Jam have decided to cut the tour short. It was to be worldwide, but now the tour will only be going to North America, with stops in Canada and the US. Europe, Asia and Australia have all been cancelled.
