Britney/Jive Have Officially Cancelled 'Blackout'
'Radar' was supposed to be the 4th single released on June 24, 2008. The music video was confirmed by her Manager Larry Rudolph who said she would be in London, England the week of June 10, 2008 to shoot the video. Well, this is all cancelled.
It was rumored that Sony BMG would no longer release "Radar", or any other singles from Blackout since Britney is in the studio recording a new album.
Well, seems that Song BMG/Jive have decided to go ahead and cancel 'Radar', any other potential singles and the album 'Blackout.'
Jive and Britney’s team are closing down “Blackout” because of all the negatives that are associated with this album, not necessarily the music itself, but the drama from Britney’s personal life that will always be attached and associated with the “Blackout” album. It may be a great album but the image attached to it will keep it back from ever progressing further.
Britney and her team mutually agreed to start off fresh with a new album and a brand new cleaned up image. Jive Reps are extremely happy with the quality with the new material she’s recorded with Bloodshy, Danja, JR and Polow. She’s currently working in the studio with Guy Sigsworth and then scheduled with The Runawayz late June.
Well there you have it, the 'Blackout' era has officially come to a close and way to soon. If Britney does have a new album coming out this Fall, than the first single should be released sometime in August!
