HBO has renewed its supernatural drama 'True Blood' starring Anna Paquin and Steven Moyer for a sixth season.
'True Blood' has been a huge hit for HBO. The season five premiere was watched by over six million people when including DVR, HBO on Demand and HBO GO. The first four episodes have been hovering around 4.5-5 million viewers which is more than any other HBO series currently on the air. The only series I could see beating 'True Blood' at some point would be 'Game of Thrones' next year.
HBO has renewed the series for another 12 episodes bringing the total number of episodes to 72.
Here is the break down of the already aired episodes:
Episode 01 - Turn! Turn! Turn! - June 10 - 5.20 million viewers
Episode 02 - Authority Always Wins - June 17 - 4.41 million viewers
Episode 03 - Whatever I Am, You Made Me - June 24 - 4.66 million viewers
Episode 04 - We'll Meet Again - July 1 - 4.54 million viewers
The season finale, 'Save Yourself' episode 60 will air on August 26, 2012.
