NBC has renewed its struggling comedy, 'Community' starring Joel McHale and Yvette Nicole Brown for a fifth season.
The season four premiere was watched by almost four million viewers which is an increase from the season three finale. However, the following 12 episodes saw the series drop to 2.5 million and hit many series lows. With the series now at 84 episodes it is only a couple of episodes away from syndication so this is the main reason NBC renewed it.
Here is a list of the last five-aired episodes:
09 - Intro to Felt Surrogacy - April 11 - 2.84 million viewers
10 - Intro to Knots - April 18 - 3.13 million viewers
11 - Basic Human Anatomy - April 25 - 2.33 million viewers
12 - Heroic Origins - May 2 - 2.67 million viewers
13 - Advanced Introduction to Finality - May 9 - 3.08 million viewers
NBC has announced the fifth season will again consist of 13 episodes which would bring the series to 99 episodes.
In other NBC news, 'Rock Center with Brian Williams's has been cancelled after two seasons.
