Metric is set to release their first single from their upcoming fifth studio album, 'Synthetica.'
'Youth Without Youth' will be released tomorrow, May 1 to radio and digital outlets. It just had its premiere at Pitchfork.com. The music video will follow in late May.
Tour dates were announced on their website but as of right now, Toronto is not on the list.
'Synthetica' the follow up to the the fantastic 'Fantasies' will be released on June 12
Metric is set to release their fifth studio album, 'Synthetica' on June 15, 2012.
'Synthetica' will be supported by the lead single, 'Youth Without Youth' which will be released on May 1. The new album will be the follow up to their mainstream breakthrough fourth album, 'Fantasies' which was released nearly three years ago in April 2009.

Metric is set to release their first remix album in support of their fourth studio album, 'Fantasies' on October 11.
The remix album, 'Fantasies Flashbacks' will be a limited edition deluxe remix collection featuring 10 unique, collectable 7" vinyl discs with unique artwork and additional collectibles, housed in a unique cigar box style package.
Back in late 2010 Metric launched an innovative remix contest for their fans which resulted in thousands of submissions of remixes from all ten tracks from the album, 'Fantasies.' Metric has selected their personal favourites and decided to release 'Fantasies Flashbacks,' a remix album, with the band's share of financial proceeds to be donated to the Center for Addiction and Mental Health. There is a limited number of only 1000 copies in print.
It will feature:
- 10 x 7" vinyl singles, each containing an original song from 'Fantasies' and the associated winning remix
- Play Button digital music player containing 10 fan submitted remixes selected by the band
- Limited Edition Metric poster
- Digital Download Code with all of the music from the 7" singles plus 11 additional remixes

Metric is set to release a special iTunes EP including two new tracks. The EP 'iTunes Sessions' will be released on January 6, 2011.
The EP will include some fan favourites from 'Fantasies' and 'Live It Out' as well as the single from 'The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.' The single 'Expecting to Fly' has been released to support the EP and the music video will premiere on January 13.

Metric is set to re-release their fourth studio album, "Fantasies" on May 24, 2010.
The deluxe edition of "Fantasies" does not have an official track listing yet but I am sure all original 12 tracks will be featured. Hopefully it will include the music videos and possibly the "Fantasies" tour.
It was announced that the deluxe edition will be promoted with the new single, "Gold Gun Girls." The new single will be released on April 26 with a music video premiering in May. "Gold Gun Girls" is a fantastic single choice and will be a huge success. The new single follows, "Sick Muse," "Help I'm Alive" and "Gimme Sympathy."
If the deluxe edition does well I hope they release at least two more singles from the album. I would love to see both "Twilight Galaxy" and "Satellite Mind" released.
Metric is set to release a special acoustic EP titled, "Plug In Plug Out" on November 24, 2009.
The EP will include five acoustic tracks from their fourth studio album, "Fantasies." If you purchase the EP you will receive a special code where you can download a video for all five of the tracks when they were performed acoustically.

I love the entire album but I was not expecting this to be released as a single. There are three other tracks I feel would be better choices, they are "Guns, Gold, Girls," "Twilight Galaxy" and "Satellite Mind".
