The CW has renewed its long-running drama series, 'Supernatural' starring Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles for a 9th season.
The season eight premiere was watched by over two million viewers and is still holding as the network 3rd biggest drama series on the air in both viewers and ratings. The spike in viewership from the previous two seasons is thanks in part to its great lead-in, 'Arrow' which has become a huge hit.

09 - Citizen Fang - December 5 - 2.06 million viewers
10 - Torn and Frayed - January 16 - 1.99 million viewers
11 - LARP and the Real Girl - January 23 - 2.01 million viewers
12 - As Time Goes By - January 30 - 2.12 million viewers
13 - Everybody Hates Hitler - February 6 - 2.29 million viewers
No word on how many episodes will be ordered but the usual 22-24 seems accurate. The season finale will air in May 2013.
