Networks Order More Episodes For Many Series

ABC has ordered more episodes and scripts for many of its series currently on the air.

The network has ordered two extra episodes for fan-favourites, 'Modern Family,' 'Grey's Anatomy' 'Shark Tank' and 'The Middle giving all series 24 episodes instead of the usual 22. ABC has also ordered one extra episode of 'Castle' bringing its total to 23.

ABC has approved two more scripts for both freshman dramas, '666 Park Avenue' and 'Last Resort.' This does not mean the episodes will air it just means if both series stabilize in the ratings and the network decides to pay for them, the shows will both have 15 episodes.

Over on FOX, freshman comedy 'The Mindy Project' has been given two additional episodes bringing its total to 24 after being given a full 22-episode order last week. 'Raising Hope' and 'New Girl' has also been given two more episodes bringing their totals to 24.

The CW has given both struggling freshman dramas, 'Beauty and the Beast' and 'Emily Owens M.D.'  three more scripts. If the series do well and the three scirpts turn into three episodes it will bring both totals to 16.
