'Major Crimes' Renewed For Season 2

TNT has renewed its crime drama 'Major Crimes' starring Mary McDonnell for a second season.

'Major Crimes' has been a huge performer for TNT. The debut season premiered to over seven million viewers. The series is a spinoff of TNT's highly successful 'The Closer' so it was sure to be a hit with fans of the original series. Since its premiere in August, the series has stabilized in viewership and has been around four-five million viewers. 

Here is a breakdown of the last five aired episodes:
Episode 03 - Medical Causes - August 27 - 5.74 million viewers
Episode 04 - The Ecstasy and the Agony - September 3 - 5.87 million viewers
Episode 05 - Citizen's Arrest - September 10 - 4.96 million viewers
Episode 06 - Out of Bounds - September 17 - 4.67 million viewers
Episode 07 - The Shame Game - September 24 - 4.30 million viewers

The season will complete its debut season on October 15. The second season will consist of 15 episodes and will premiere in the summer of 2013.
