M.I.A. 2 Release 3rd Promo Single

M.I.A. is set to release her third promo single in anticipation of her third studio album, '/\/\/\Y/\.'


The third track is 'Teqkilla' and will be released to iTunes on June 29. 'Teqkilla' is yet another track from the new album that has potential for a full single release.

Xtina 2 Release "You Lost Me"

Christina Aguilera is set to release her second official single from her fourth studio album, "Bionic."


Aguilera has decided to release "You Lost Me" as the official second single instead if previous announced single, "WooHoo."  After the lackluster success of "Not Myself Tonight," her label has decided to go the safe route and chose a ballad that focusses on her voice instead of her sex. "WooHoo" was decided before the album release and after the weak sales of "Bionic," RCA decided against another sex-obsessed single.


Like her past albums, Aguilera has had much success with ballads as the second single. For 2002's "Stripped" she released "Beautiful" after "Dirrty" stalled and again on 2006's "Back To Basics" she chose "Hurt" after "Ain't No Other Man."


Let's hope this single choice was right. I would have loved "Lift Me Up" or "I Am" as the next single, because it sounds more radio-friendly.  The new album is great and I hope to see at least five singles. After "You Got Me" I hope to see "Woo Hoo," "Elastic Love" and "Lift Me Up." But, "Desnudate" could also be a huge hit for her.

Kate Nash 2 Release "Kiss That Grrrl"

Kate Nash is set to release her second single off her sophomore album, "My Best Friend Is You."


"Kiss That Grrrl" will be released as the second single on June 28 when it goes to radio. The music video will premiere in early July, while the physical single won't be released until the end of July.


"Kiss That Grrrl" follows the Top 15 single, "Do Wah Doo."

Bjork 2 Release Collaborative EP

Bjork is set to release a special collaborative EP with Dirty Projectors on June 30. 


The EP titled, "Mount Wittenberg Orca" is a joint effort featuring tracks originally written for a New York benefit concert back in 2009.


Recorded at the Rare Book Room inBrooklyn with Nicolas Vernhes, all proceeds from the release will go to help marine conservation.

"We've decided to give away all the money that 'Mount Wittenberg Orca' generates to the project of creating international marine protected areas," Dirty Projectors'David Longstreth said in statement to Stereogum.com. "Only 1% of the oceans are protected in any way and this is a huge problem."

Kelly 2 Release Two New Singles

Kelly Rowland is set to release two singles this summer in anticipation of her self-titled third studio set.


Back in April 2010 Kelly released "Commander" as the official first single, but the single has since been changed to become the first official European/Canadian single. The first two official singles for America will now be "Grown Woman" and "Rose-Coloured Glasses."


"Grown Woman" will be sent to rhythmic radio while "Rose-Coloured Glasses" will be sent to mainstream radio.

Royksopp 2 Release "Senior"

Royksopp are set to release their fourth studio album, "Senior" on September 13, 2010.


"Senior" is a companion piece to their third studio set, "Junior" which was released back in 2009. "Senior" will be their first instrumental album.


"The two albums ('Junior' and 'Senior') have a kinship, in that they represent 's two very different artistic expressions," the group said in a statement. "'Junior' - with emphasis on vocals, accessible melodies and harmonies, has the energy, the inquisitive temper and confident "hey-ho, let's go!"-attitude of youth, whereas 'Senior' is the introverted, dwelling and sometimes graceful counterpart - brimful with dark secrets and distorted memories, insisting 'I'm old, I've got experience...'.

They added: "'Senior' is furthermore an album about age, horses and being subdued - with devils breathing down your neck."

Maroon5 2 Release 'Misery'

Maroon5 are set to release their first single, 'Misery' from their upcoming third album, 'Hands All Over.'


'Misery' is set to be released on June 22 while radio will add the single on July 5. The music video is set to premiere on July 1.

M.I.A. 2 Release "XXXO" Remixes

M.I.A. is set to release her official lead single, "XXXO" off her third studio album, "/\/\/\Y/\".


"XXXO" has received the remix treatment from Jay-Z and will be released to radio next week on June 21. The remixes include Jay-Z and will be released digitally on July 11 while the physical remix EP will go to stores on July 12.

M.I.A. is set to release her third studio album, "/\/\/\Y/\" on July 13. 


Last month I revealed the official artwork and track listing for the album but M.I.A. has changed both this past week. The artwork now includes You Tube streaming bars across her face. I think this has to do with the censorship from her video for "Born Free" which was banned from You Tube. 


"/\/\/\Y/\" will be released in both standard and deluxe editions. The standard edition will include all 12 tracks while the deluxe will include four bonus tracks. If you download the digital album from iTunes you will also receive a special bonus track.

Kelis Releases '4th Of July'

Kelis is set to release her second single off her fifth studio album, 'Flesh Tone' which was released on May 17 in the UK.  The album won't be released until July 6 in North America.


'4th of July (Fireworks)' will be released on June 21 to radio while the digital release won't happen until July 5. The music video is set to premiere in late June.


I like this track but I wouldn't have chosen it to follow the brilliant 'Acapella.' I hope the album get's at least five singles, if so than this is a great single choice.  Of the other seven tracks I hope she releases in this order: 'Scream,' '22nd Century' and than last 'Home.' 

Trent Reznor Moves On...

Trent Reznor has decided to put Nine Inch Nails on hold, while he forms another group with his wife Mariqueen Maandig and Atticus Ross.

The newly formed group, How To Destroy Angels will have the same electronica/industrial sound NIN had but with a twist, instead of Reznor up front and centre, it's his wife. 

How To Destroy Angels released their self-titled debut EP this past week on June 1 to digital outlets. The EP will include six tracks including the first single, 'The Space In Between.' The music video for the track was released in late May. 

Their first full length CD album will released on July 6.
