"Knight" Beats "Pineapple" At Box-Office

"The Dark Knight" took the top spot at the box-office this weekend for a fourth straight week, beating two newcomers whose Wednesday openings admittedly hurt their chances of toppling Batman's reign.

'Knight' took in $26 million in its fourth weekend, ahead of the $22 million earned by Seth Rogen comedy "Pineapple Express". 'Pineapple' actually won on Friday ($7.9 million to $7.6 million), but interest in the comedy waned over the weekend while 'Knight' attendance surged.

'Pineapple' scored generally good reviews and has pulled in an impressive $40.4 million haul since its opening on Wednesday. The other newcomer "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2" also opened well with a $19.7 million haul since Wednesday - nearly doubling the amount earned in the first five days by its predecessor.
