Mariah Needs To Re-Think "E=MC2"

Mariah Carey released her 10th studio album "E=MC2" back in April 2008 and it has not been very successful. The three singles that have been released thus far have all been mediocre.

First single "Touch My Body" was a sad excuse for a lead single, "Bye Bye", the second single was another sad attempt to profit of the much better "We Belong Together" from the previous album. Third single "I'll Be Lovin U Long Time" was an album cut, not good enough for a single release and Mariah new that, that is why she recorded a radio version with rapper T.I. yet the track was the least successful of the bunch.

Well, what is Mariah to do? The album has many tracks that could have been great singles but her label decided other wise. Five tracks come to mind when thinking of 'single material' "Migrate", "Side Effects", "Cruise Control", "I Stay In Love" and "O.O.C.".

All those songs would have been amazing, if they would have been released instead. Here is what I would have released if the decision was up to moi:

1st Single = Migrate [With/ T-Pain]
2nd Single = I Stay In Love
3rd Single = O.O.C.
4th Single = Side Effects [W/ Young Jeezy]
5th Single = Cruise Control [W/ Damien Marley]

We can only hope that the 4th single will be one of these tracks.

Rihanna Currently Working on 4th Album

Rihanna recently did an interview in Australia where she gave few hints on her upcoming album.

The currently untitled 4th studio ablum and follow-up to mega-successful "Good Girl Gone Bad" is expected to be released in early 2009. The future LP will carry the same attitude as “Good Girl Gone Bad”.

Rihanna stated: “I’m not going to give anything away, but it’s going to be very edgy. ”Good Girl Gone Bad” definitely spoke to a year in my life, a year of attitude. It stood for who I am – the attitude, the edge. My next album will take it up a notch. I want to keep growing. I don’t want to get stuck. I want to change.”

Interesting! Rihanna has gone none stop since she debuted in 2005 with "Pon De Replay". Rihanna has released three albums in 4 years with a 4th coming. Let's see if "Breakin Dishes" is even released now if she has a track coming out before the end of the year.

Britney 2 Enter "Circus" in December

Fresh off winning three top awards at last weekend's MTV Video Music Awards, Britney Spears has confirmed she will release a new album before year's end.

"Circus" is due December 2, 2008 via Jive which is the day of Britney's 27th Birthday. the first single is "Womanizer," produced by the Outsyders. The video that leaked two weeks ago showing Britney and her back up dancers practicing to a brand new track was indeed "Womanizer".

"Womanizer" goes to radio next week on September 22, 2008 and will see a digital release the same day. The video will be shot near the end of September with a premiere sometime in October 2008.

Among the other contributors are Dr. Luke, who wrote and produced the title cut, Danja, Guy Sigsworth, Max Martin, Bloodshy & Avant, J.R. Rotem, Keri Hilson, Sean Garrett, Nate "Danja" Hills, and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins have all been confirmed to be working with Spears on "Circus".

Last month, Spears told OK Magazine of the new album, "I think it is more urban," adding that she'd been writing everyday on a piano in her living room.

"Circus" is the follow-up to last year's "Blackout," which has sold 894,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Upcoming Madonna Projects!

Madonna's upcoming greatest hits by Warner Records is finally taking shape. Madonna has no plans of a new photoshoot for this ultimate collection and apparently there won't be any new song on the CD, but just remastered tracks.

Warner has also shown interest for Madonna's unreleased Tours or in particular for a Blonde Ambition DVD as the Pioneer contract is ending very soon. Warner is working something out to have the tour released.

Interesting. If Warner Records had any brains they would release the ultimate collection on DVD with every single video by Madonna including "Erotica", "This Used To By My Playgound", "Dear Jessie" and "Burning Up" among the other twenty videos never released in Madonna's 25 years in Music.
