NBC is set to premiere their new show, `The Firm`on January 12 in `Prime Suspect`s` place. NBC has not yet announced an official cancellation however they have shut down production after the 13th episode has been filmed.
Seven episodes have aired so far leaving six episodes yet to air. Presumably, if NBC keeps `Prime Suspect` on the air the 13th and final episode of the season (series) will air on December 22.
This comes as no surprise considering its one of NBC`s lowest rated series currently on air. Here is the breakdown of the already aired episodes:
01 - Pilot - 1.8 rating - 6.05 million viewers
02 - Carnivorous Sheep - 1.5 rating - 5.69 million viewers
03 - Bitch - 1.5 rating - 5.04 million viewers
04 - Great Guy, Yet: Dead - 1.3 rating - 4.60 million viewers
05 - Regrets, I`ve Had a Few - 1.2 rating - 4.06 million viewers
06 - Shame - 1.2 rating - 4.51 million viewers
07 - Wednesday`s Child - 1.3 rating - 4.86 million viewers
