Rihanna will release 'Where Have You Been' as the next single from her sixth studio album, 'Talk That Talk.'
'Where Have You Been' will be released to radio on May 8 while the music video will follow in late May. This track is described as being the fifth single from 'Talk That Talk' but really its the third.
After the success of 'We Found Love' Rihanna chose to release 'You Da One.' 'One did not do well, only charting at #14 on the Billboard 100. Her label quickly released the "third" single, 'Talk That Talk' as a single but was later chosen as only a radio single after it faired even worse than the previous single.
Rihanna then released a special remix of her album track, 'Birthday Cake' with Chris Brown. The remix was chosen as the fourth single. Her label failed to support it as a single, without a video or radio play, most likely because of its sexual lyrics.
Now Def Jam has decided on fan-favourite 'Where Have You Been' which was produced by Calvin Harris who also did 'We Found Love.' This should prove to be successful for her especially with the summer approaching. This should have been the second single after 'We Found Love.'
If I was her label I would have released these songs as singles:
01 - We Found Love
02 - Where Have You Been
03 - You Da One
04 - Drunk on Love
05 - Do Your Thang
06 - Watch N Learn
