ABC has given its drama 'Nashville' starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere for a full season bringing the total number of episodes from 13 to 22.
'Nashville' has been a steady performer for ABC, it hasn't been a huge hit like last year's 'Once Upon a Time' but also hasn't completely bombed like '666 Park Avenue.' The series premiere was watched by almost nine million viewers. The past four episodes have seen the ratings fluctuate from good to bad each week. This past week saw the series rise in viewership and ratings and has now stabilized with a 2.0 rating and six million viewers.
Here is a breakdown of the last five-aired episodes:
01 - Pilot - October 10 - 8.93 million viewers
02 - I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You) - October 17 - 6.74 million viewers
03 - Someday You'll Call My Name - October 24 - 6.54 million viewers
04 - We Live in Two Different Worlds - October 31 - 5.74 million viewers
05 - Move it on Over - November 7 - 6.07 million viewers
Both 'Malibu Country' and 'Last Man Standing' were both given three additional scripts. In case both series do well ABC will finance three more episodes bringing the series to 16 episodes.
So far in the very early 2012 Fall TV season ABC has announced full season pickups for 'The Neighbors' and now 'Nashville.' The fates of 'Malibu Country,' '666 Park Avenue' and 'Last Resort' are expected to be announced sometime this week. The mid-season schedule should be announced very soon. '666 Park Avenue' and 'Last Resort' I see going the way of 'Pan Am' last season, they will most likely have all 13 episodes shown but will be canceled. 'Malibu Country' is still too new as it just premiered two weeks ago but seems to be a shoe-in for a full season pick up.
